How long does a Tromsø husky sledding tour take?
The six products by length
Four hours: the self-drive with traditional lunch, 25 minutes out to a Kvaløya kennel, roughly 45 minutes of shared self-driven sledding, then reindeer stew round a fire. Six and a half hours: the advanced Camp Tamok tour, 90 minutes each way. Seven hours: Tamokdalen, 95 minutes each way, with the group split so that one half sleds for about three and a half hours of activity while the other half does the yard and the meal, then they swap. Ten hours: the evening combination, which is sledding, a two-course dinner, an aurora science talk and a snowmobile excursion.
Where the hours actually go
Take the flagship as the worked example. Fifty minutes out. Fifteen to twenty in the gear room with a full bus. A briefing. Time in the dog yard while teams are harnessed. The run itself, shared with a partner and swapped at the midpoint. Cake and hot drinks in a lávvu. Fifty minutes back. The sledding is the smallest block on that list and the one everyone remembers.
