Who is writing this
I grew up in Nordreisa, three hours north-east of Tromsø, in a village where the neighbour ran Finnmarksløpet twice and nobody thought that was remarkable. I then spent eight winters working as a dog handler for kennels in Breivikeidet and the Tamok valley: harnessing teams, fitting guests into thermal suits, driving the transfer bus out of Prostneset, and scooping the yard when everyone had gone home.
That is the whole of my authority here. I am not a musher with a following and I have no interest in romanticising the work. What I do have is the same forty questions asked at the bus door every winter, by people who were about to spend a day of a short holiday on something they had misunderstood. This site is me answering them once, properly, so nobody has to ask me at the door again.
What this site does
It compares six husky tours sold from Tromsø on the things that decide whether you enjoy the day: how long the transfer is, how far inland the camp sits and therefore how reliable the snow is, how many minutes you actually spend on the runners, what the ticket covers, and who each tour refuses to take. The comparison lives on the all-tours page and the tour-by-tour verdicts on the reviews.
You will not find a figure quoted anywhere on this site. Rates move, they differ by season and party size, and a stale number is worse than none — the booking widget shows you the live one when you are ready. What I write about instead is value: what the ticket covers, what you would otherwise be arranging yourself, and which tour gives you the most day for the least bus.
What I will not do
I do not claim to have taken these tours as a reviewer on a given date, because I have not. The star scores and review counts on this site belong to GetYourGuide travellers, and I say so on every page that uses them. I do not tell you the northern lights are guaranteed, because they are not. And I do not sell reassurance on animal welfare: there is no husky-tourism certification scheme in Norway to point at, so the welfare page gives you the checks to make with your own eyes instead.

Why does this site not quote any figures?
Because a figure written into a page goes stale, varies by season and party size, and is the one thing you can always get live from the booking widget. Comparing on duration, transfer time, minutes on the runners and what the ticket covers is more useful — that is how the all-tours page is built.
Have you personally taken every tour you review?
